Research and Planning: Pitch and Feedback

Teacher Feedback

Mr Escott: "Don't get caught in the trap of just visually translating the lyrics!"

Peer feedback
  • 30 second lip-sync was visually appealing
  • Lots of ideas for digital convergence
  • Thorough explanations
  • Cast are comfortable with camera and play an instrument
  • Evidence of past editing experience - good!
Commentary: What I learnt

Due to a lack of planning, when I began editing my 30 second lip-sync test, I had realised that I hadn't really stuck to the narrative route I was going for. I know it's not that significant since it was just a 30 second test but it reminded me to - as Mr Escott had said - not "get caught in the trap of visually translating the lyrics". So, during the period between September and December where we are editing, I'll bare this in mind!
Just a note: I hadn't actually included ideas for the 30 second video that goes on the website in my pitch, but I was asked verbally by Mr Escott to which I threw in my ideas of a 'Meet The Artist' video or an artist interview.
